In this project, we were tasked with creating a theme for a poetry book design. The theme I chose was a comparison between poetic poetry from the Golden Age and modern Israeli poetry. I conducted comprehensive theoretical and formal research on both types of poetry, and then proceeded to gather materials. The material collection process involved selecting a piyyut (liturgical poem), identifying its central concept, and then finding a modern poem that contains the same concept.
The project required me to gather materials, design typography, and produce a print.
בפרויקט זה, התבקשנו ליצור תמה לעיצוב ספר שירה. התמה שבחרתי הייתה השוואה בין שירה פיוטית מתקופת תור הזהב לשירה הישראלית המודרנית. ביצעתי מחקר מקיף הן מהבחינה התאורטית והן מהבחינה הצורנית על שני סוגי השירה הללו, ולאחר מכן התחלתי באיסוף החומרים. תהליך איסוף החומרים כלל בחירת שיר פיוט אחד, זיהוי הקונספט המרכזי בו, ולאחר מכן מציאת שיר מודרני המכיל את אותו הקונספט.
העבודה דרשה ממני איסוף חומרים, עיצוב טיפוגרפי והפקת דפוס, שימוש בצבע במינון נכון והבנתו להקשר של הספר.

פיוט מודרני- אירוע
במהלך הקורס, נדרשנו לבחור תרבות מסוימת ולהפיק אירוע תרבותי המבוסס על האלמנטים החזותיים שלה. בחרתי בתרבות החרדית, אשר סובלת ממחסור בדימויים חזותיים מסיבות שונות. במחקר הצורני שלי התבססתי על צורות האותיות בלבד, שכן הן מהוות את הדימוי החזותי הבולט ביותר בקרב הציבור החרדי. החלטתי להמשיך את פרויקט "פיוט מודרני" וליצור סביבו אירוע תרבותי. מכיוון שהשירה מתבססת כולה על האות הכתובה, הרעיון של האירוע התאים במיוחד לתרבות שאותה חקרתי.
During the course, we were asked to choose a culture and create a cultural event based on its visual elements. I chose the Haredi (Ultra-Orthodox Jewish) culture, which suffers from a lack of visual imagery for various reasons. In my design research, I focused solely on the shapes of the letters, as they are the most prominent visual element in Haredi society. I decided to continue the "Modern Piyyut" project and create a cultural event around it. Since the poetry is entirely based on the written letter, the concept of the event was particularly suited to the culture I studied.
